The Indian wedding ceremonies are considered as more sacred than any other marriage in the world because they celebrate marriage as a sacrament which is also called as Sanskar in India. It is ritual thing which enables individuals to start their journey in life together. Indian theme wedding is depicted in every aspect of wedding ceremony. It means, through the dressing sense of bride and groom, the Indian culture and traditions can be seen. Traditional Indian brides wear a sari wedding ceremony which is a long and unstitched cloth that can be wrapped around the body in many different styles. Bride also wears the heavy jewelry which has much importance in Indian culture. The jewelry may be of gold, diamond or anything.

Typically, Indian marriages are performed by priests. It begins with the selection of a day and time to perform the wedding. It is the Indian culture to decorate the bride's palm and feet with henna or mehendi. It is performed a day before the wedding.  The ceremony is conducted in a tent called mandap decorated with flowers for the special occasion. Then in front of sacred fire the Kanyadaan is performed. Kanyadaan is a sacrament where the father of bride gives his daughter to the groom. After that the bride and the groom walk seven times around the sacrificial fire called Saptapadi. It is a primary ritual of a Hindu wedding. After the Saptapadi the couple is declared as married.
